Downloaded images are distorted, don't look right!

Scott

I've been using the internet for years for all types of
things. Just recently, I've noticed that the images I
view on the internet do not look right. Many jpeg and
other images appear distorted. What has happened? Any
help will be appreciated.

If they appear to just be lower quality (jpegs) and sometimes blocky &
spotty, this may be a result of your ISP's image compression. SprintPCS
wireless, Earthlink and NetZero, for example, have Internet surfing
acceleration technologies that do lossy recompression of images and do other
caching and lossless trickery to make your connection seem faster than it
is. If it looks particularly bad, try hit Ctrl+F5 to refresh the page
without compression.
