Download Manager with DSL?

I've recently upgraded to DSL, and would like to know if using a download
manager would speed up my downloads as it used to with my previous dial-up
connection?

Not significantly, n fact, it could slow the process depending on how you
configure the DM to launch.

It won't make them go faster than your max speed but if it will do
segmented downloads it can *maintain* the maximum possible speed - which
you'd rarely get otherwise.
