Download individual patches

As a well known, local computer 'techie', the folk round here often ask
me to help with their PC issues.

Frequently, I find that many of their PC's require updating in
accordance with Microsoft's update and security patches, but they are
unable to do so in practical terms because they are on a dial-up system
rather than broadband. Subsequently, any downloads would take several
hours to do.

Is there somewhere you can download specific updates in full, so that I
could burn them to CD and take them with me when I go visit such people?

In my case, downloading the complete service pack as a
unit burned to disk works best. Typically, I will install
windows XP as needed, then apply the service pack (right
now, SP1), THEN, set the unit up for auto. update, with
instructions to the user to periodically leave the
machine on overnight and connected such that the updates
have an opportunity to download without a hassle. For SP
updates in full, try C-Net, Tucows or another popular d/l
site.

Leaving the PC on overnight is not an option.
Many dial-up packages in the UK have a 2 hour cut off, or quota usage on
hours.
