OS: XP Home Edition +SP2
Browser: IE latest
Hardware: SONY VAIO Laptop PCG-FX340

Background:
About twice a month, while browsing the web with IE, I
inadvertently drag my finger over the touchpad and a
dialog box pops up asking me if I want to download
iexplore.exe, with a warning that downloading could
damage my computer. I always select cancel.

AV software, Ad-aware, Spybot S&D, SpywareBlaster is kept
up-to-date.

Question: Need I be concerned about the pop-up asking if
I want to download iexplore.exe?

You allready have iexplorer.exe it's the Internet Explorer
program you use to surf the web.. the pop-up is probably
a hijacker attempting to infect your computer. Your finger
over the touchpad, is probably just a coincidence.

If your spyware programs (all) are up to date you should
not be concerned but to be absolutely safe and posibly
have Spybot stop the pop-up configure it this way.
Click on Immunize\check on "Enable permament blockage
of malicious addresses in Internet Explorer".
next convert to Advanced Mode in Mode menu, go to
Tools\Resident\and check on Resident S&D Helper and
Resident TeaTimer, to block malicious downloads and
protect your system configuration...
