download dialogue box missing...

after selecting a download button, new explorer window
opens and download starts (activity on dsl modem) and
then ends with a 'missing icon' in top left corner of
window... no dialogue box ever displays to allow
selection of 'open' or 'save' for downloading the
item... makes it impossible to download anything
effectively... any ideas? thanks - Steve

Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types/[File Type in
Question]/Advanced. Put a check in the box that reads: Confirm open after
download.

Enable Always Ask Before Opening... (Line 164)

Hi Kelly, thanks for your reply... however this does not
seem to quite solve my situation... file type .exe, not
listed, I add, and it says... "application" and will not
allow selection of confirm open after download (option
not available). Also, what is line 164? or should I say
where? lol ... will check out your website later. tx -

Hi Kelly, I did visity your site... and understood line
164 and used it... thanks. This however did not fix the
challenge. I still do not receive the dialogue box...
just thinking now, that I would likely have to reboot
since it was a registry change... ok... later lol - Steve

Good luck, Steve. If the edit didn't help, then I would suggest running all
