Double Problem

O

Hello,
My computer (Alienware Lightspeed - 3.6 mhz - 4 gb ram) got really messed
up. I have Windows Pro XP - SP1 and IE 5.0.
I can't upgrade XP to SP2 or SP3 because my IE is under 5.5 and I keep
getting a Kernel32.dll error message AND I can't upgrade Windows because I
haven't got my IE!! This is a vicious circle.
Suggestions anyone? Help!!!!!
Thanks, Dianne

sometimes antivirals
and firewall prevent
modifications to the
system.

turning them off and
retrying might be a
reasonable idea.
