Upgraded successfully from Windows Me. Opening My
Computer dialog, the Local Disk (C:) icon is generic
instead of a HD icon. Double clicking on it brings up a
dialog titled Windows XP Setup, with the text: Please go
to the Control Panel to install and configure system
components.

I can right-click and Open or Explore. Also, strangely,
there is an AutoPlay option in the right-click menu.

Any ideas out there?

Look for an Autorun.inf file in the root directory of the C: drive. If
found, delete it.

Thanks Doug, that did the trick. Much appreciated. It
sure was annoying not being able to use the 2x click.
thanks, wil
