DOS programs

Cristian Iosifescu

Hi,

I have an XP Pro System with some old DOS programs (i.e. Borland Pascal 7
and Borland C, DOS versions); I have shortcuts for them and they run fine in
window mode, but when I switch to full screen mode they freeze and I cannot
type anymore. Everything goes back fine when I switch back to window mode.

Thanx for any ideas.

P.S.: Don't tell me to install Windows versions of the software.

I have this old betamax cassette and it won't play in a DVD player.

P.S.: Don't tell me to buy the movie in DVD format.

For better or worse, DOS is dead as far as Windows XP is concerned. Some DOS programs
will run well with the Windows XP DOS emulator, and some won't. If yours won't, and it's
important to you, make your system dual boot with Windows 98 and Windows XP, and run the
DOS programs booting with Windows 98.

It happens that I have a dual boot system.

I'm just posting this question because those shortcuts worked before i
changed my mainboard and reinstall XP Pro. Those programs also work on other
computers I use that have W2K.

I have 3 dos programs which run fine in windows xp prof sp1a. Try this: go
to properties for the program (right click and go to the compatability tab
click on the format the program was originaslly working in, probably windows
95.
It should run ok then.
