dos printing problem

hi all, we have dos based program in a win2k server and
being run from win2k workstns, the dos based program won't
print but in excel, word... printer works fine.

appreciate much your suggestions...

dos printing...ick you need to have a printer attached to lpt1, either
physically or virtually and configure the program to print to it. what kind
of printer are you trying to print to

the printer is connected on the same computer where i run
the dos program via lpt1, i also tried printing through a
network shared printer but it still did'nt work. printer
is epson fx1170.

ok, thats good. the dos program needs to be configured to print to that lpt
port, and print in a way the printer will understand. if it is a laser
printer, there is usually a generic laser setup in program. best thing to do
is contact company that wrote software. there are a million different
combinations when it comes to DOS printing. if that isnt possible, try to
find documentation, and if that fails, upgrade to a win32 app, it is 2004
after all
