I have two ISPs - one is a dial-up (at the office) and the other is on cable
(at home). Some program keeps attempting to dial my Work ISP - but I can't
figure out which program it is (so I can shut it off). Does anyone have a
method of checking programs that are likely to dial in? Thanks.......

Do you possibly have Internet Explorer set to automatically connect to your
dial-up ISP?
I had that problem a couple of years ago, right after I got connected to
cable internet service. Apparently, I had chosen that option when I had
dial-up, and forgot to turn it off when I got broadband.
Check "Tools- Internet Options- Connections" and review your settings there.
Hope this helps. If not, I hope someone else can provide another suggestion.
Good luck.

Hi Bobby,

Right click My Network Places/Properties/Advanced (top toolbar)/Dial-Up
Preferences/Enable Auto-Dial by Location/Uncheck all locations and check off
always ask me before auto dialing. Also, Disable autodial while I am logged
on.

In the Enable Auto-Dial By Location dialog box, select each location for
which you want the automatic dialing feature to operate. Reboot.

Disable or Enable AutoDial (Line 91)

To view the list of names and addresses recorded by AutoDial, type the
following command at a command prompt: rasautou -s

To delete a name or address entry from the list: Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\RAS Autodial\Addresses

You can delete any TCP/IP addresses that you see under this key. Note that
AutoDial can use IP addresses, DNS fully qualified domain names (FQDN), and
NetBIOS names.

You've got your system setup to Autodial:

To configure autodial

1.. Open Network Connections.
2.. On the Advanced menu, click Dial-up Preferences.
3.. On the Autodial tab, select the check box next to the location where
you want to disable autodial, and then click OK.
Hope this helps,
Jeff
