Done windows update and now printing corrupted

Hi

I have an sbs 2000 server, i upgraded it it so SP 4 and
done windoes updates, now it will not let me open the
printers folders, i have to stop thr print spooler
service and then it opens up empty with no printers in, i
then restart the service and i get my printer listed
again but if i try and print a test page it says

"test page failed to print would you like to view the
print trouble shooter for assistance. Unable to create
print job"

nothing in the event logs suggest a problem but obviously
nobody can print.

Try creating a new print spool file/location

Create a folder in say in C:\ called spooler

So you'll then have C:\spooler

Open your Printers Folder

File
Server Properties
Advanced tab
Edit the spooler folder location to C:\spooler
(or whatever/wherever you created previously)

Click OK

Stop and restart the spooler service

Hope that helps

If it does try going to the location that the spooler was at orginally,
typically:
C:\WINNT\System32\spool\PRINTERS
and delete any contents then point the spooler location back to here.
Assuming you want it back to default )
