domains and workgroups

New XP Pro machine. Has printer and folders shared. Two
notebook PCs also on same private network, both XP pro,
but both notebooks are company owned and members of
different domains. Would like notebooks to be able to use
shared printer on XP workgroup machine. Can ping etc, but
cannot seem to find shares.

How do I resolve this?

You can try enabling the guest permissions on the shared printer or another
method could be using the net use command from the notebook machines with an
account on the XP Pro machine that has permissions to print to the shared
printer.

The following is an example of the net use command. This will authenticate
with the XP Pro machine using an account from the XP pro machine.

\\net use \\xpmachine\sharedprinter /u:xpmachine\username password
/PERSISTENT:yes
