I need to create a trust in domains between a company in
the chicago area and a company in the st paul area. There
is a user in the chicago company that needs to have access
to files and directories in the st paul company. When
trying to create the trust who do I get the two networks
to communicate proberly and find eachother?

Make sure the name resolution (DNS) works between the two companys. If
possible use a centralized DNS server (for simplicity)

Would it work if we added each domain to the lmhosts files
on the servers?

Windows 2000 depends heavily on DNS, you need to get that
working...netBIOS name resolution using lmhosts is commonly used when
dealing with NT 4 domain trusts...(even though Wins can be used in
those scenarios)

.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but if this is an inter
forest trust then he's gotta have Netbios name resolution
for NTLM authentication. There's a KB on this.
