Domain Password Not being Accepted

I have a user that has a laptop. When she is logged on to the network she can
connect to the domain no problem. When she is not on the network the system
tell her that her password is no good.

This happens only when she logs into a local user account then tries to log
into the domain account while not on the domain netowork.

Is there a reason this is happening? Can someone explain why the system
seems to cach her domain password properly until she logs on to a local user
account. Is there a property I can set to change this feature?

thanks

Is the local account named the same as the Domain account?
