I have a TDK DVD player Writer. It came with Roxio which I dont care for
Does XP by itself support DVD writing and reading. (DVD_RW , DVD+RW etc.
If not what is the easiest way to do this without having to install a lot of softwar

NO! XP can only do CD-Rs, natively!


However, XP reads DVDs.

No - you have to get third party software. which package is a matter of
taste largely. Nero from www.nero.com is popular; if you want just the
'packet writing' mode for drag/drop to DVD+-RW, then DLA is good and
cheaper
