Does video memory matter

Will there be any major difference rather a video card has 256MB of GDDR3
memory or 512 GDDR3 memory? I have a Power Color 256MB X300 SE video card
with XP SP3. I found a good deal on a MSI RX2600XT-T2D256EZ. I really want
the 512MB card. It appears the 512MB might be on its way out.

Depends on what you do with your computer, someone that does web surfing and
email will notice no difference at all, high end gamers will.
