does moviemaker work in windows2000?

What does it says under the system requirements on the download page?

Just for the heck of it I once copied the Movie Maker 1.0 folder from XP's
"C:\Program Files\" folder into Windows 2000 (SP4) installation... under
C:\Program Files... and it worked !!!

However the same procedure doesnt do for MM2. The depndencies lead to some
security files very specific to XP :-(

For movie editing there are many good alternatives that work under Win2k.
Try some win2k forums or www.cnet.com

I think we would all like to hear what security files and in what way
the interaction occurs...can you please give specifics....its knowledge we
should all have
