Does it work with Windows Me

Hi

Am trieng to Help a friend who has an laptop that is
infected with loads of crap and spyware.

The problem is that he has Win Me. According to Microsoft
the program only supports Xp and 2000.

BUT! Looking back at the company that Microsft bought and
got the program from in the first place.....( GIANT ) they
claim that it supports ME.

Question: Has anyvone tried it on Win ME????

Hi there;
It would help if u read the website for downloading. There are other
anti-spyware software that supports all the Windows OS versions try Ad Aware
and Spybot S&D. They are good. I am runnig all three on a server and they r
working all fine. You can't rely on only one anti-spyware...

Hi Again!

I have tried the Ad Aware and Spybot S&D and it found 150
diffrent kind of programs and reg.installations.
He has been running the laptop 3-4 years with no Antivirus,
firewall or antispyware.....with a 56 modem.

I think I have cleaned them all out! I had some serious
problems with 2 dialers....but they seem to be gone now.

I thought that since Microsofts program has real time
protection it could be a nice protection.
I thougth Microfts antispyware + zone alarm + avg should be
just fine.....

Still need to know if anvone has tried it with Win Me, I

Counterspy works with ME, the same antispyware engine as MSAS.

Just tried it on a Windows ME PC (doesn't ME stand for
Melinium - 2000)
Downloaded OK, Install fails after the displaying the
supported operating systems notification without a
specific error message.

No.
There is no such thing as "Melinium - 2000" or even "Millennium - 2000"
Windows 2000 and Windows Millennium are two different products aimed at
different markets.
They have very little in common other than they both came out about the same
time.
