Does GWA lie?

Does google web accelerator lie? I can't believe the performance
enhancement numbers it reports. In my use I'd think it slowed things
surfing down, yet it reports a considerable speed improvement (as in
minutes saved)

this page gave me pages automatically loading which I had not
requested - gwa fault, or the fact I had gwa installed ???

FWIW - I don';t notice any speed up using gwa with a 2mb dsl
connection

The prefetch feature of GWA is hedious; I saw forum threads yesterday
in which nearly half the posts or more were "deleted by user" (various
users) within the past day or two. I seriously suspect GWA is to blame
for that for clicking links and buttons it shouldn't.
