Does anyone know what the SP2 error messages mean?

Sorry for the repost but still haven't got any solutions yet. Does anyone
know what the error messages in the setupapi.log file below mean and how can
I fix them. I have tried to use everything I have found so far in this
forum and on the MS Knowledge base and all links I've seen over the past 2
weeks in this newsgroup including:

Removed Spyware
Disabled AV
Created new profile
Installed in Safe mode
Edited permissions in Registry (the ones I could find)
Tried w/ Auto Upd, CD and Download
Also, have done Safemode, loged in as Admin, done a disk cleanup and defrag,
emptied cookies, temp files etc.I have no disk management tools and an
identical config to the 2 other XP home machines.

I still get numerous errors in the setupapi.log file. There are two types
and alot of each Access Denied and Copy errors. Man this is frustrating. I
have 4 pc's and had troubles w/ 2 fo the 4. Both XP home versions (properly
licensed). The other XP home and the XP pro machines worked fine. I get
hung up on the Install of msmgrs.inf file but the log shows dozens of these
errors.

Help????
TIA,
Brian

Example of Access Denied errors:

#E065 Parsing AddReg section [Product.Add.Reg] in
"c:\3874d6772cbe490a76\i386\update\update.inf" failed. Error 5: Access is
denied.
#E064 Parsing install section [ProductInstall.GlobalRegistryChanges.Install]
in "c:\3874d6772cbe490a76\i386\update\update.inf" failed. Error 5: Access is
denied.
#E008 Setting registry value HKCR\.ivf\PersistentHandler
#E033 Error 5: Access is denied.

Example of copy errors:

#E197 Writing "C:\WINDOWS\INF\wmp.inf" to "C:\WINDOWS\INF" is not an
approved method of installing INF files. Use a 'CopyINF' entry instead.
#E197 Writing "C:\WINDOWS\INF\wdma_via.inf" to "C:\WINDOWS\INF" is not an
approved method of installing INF files. Use a 'CopyINF' entry instead.

Hi

Start out with fixing the registry permission problem.

It looks like you have a permission problem on the registry key
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.ivf

Try the method I describe in this link to reset permissions
http://groups.google.com/[email protected]
substituting ".AudioCD" with ".ivf".

And if you haven't done it already, see the "Access denied" section
here as well:
