With EVERY piece of software you obtain legally (be it through direct
purchase, be it through gift or extra when buying hardware) you should
have a serial number with it.
With EVERY piece of hardware you obtain legally you should have a piece
of software (i.e. drivers) with it.
If you lose those or never received them, you'll just have to buy them
again. You could also try to contact the vendor, but tbh, you have been
sloppy and need punishment. ;-)
Talk about punishment! I PCS'd from Korea (air force) and the box containing
the serial # for my Adobe Photoshop was lost. (Serial # was on the case)
So...when I contacted Adobe for a serial number they told me "We no longer
have those." ?!?!?!(I was expecting a more technical answer and was told
after much prodding that the photoshop I bought in 99 was no longer
supported...But I doubt that would happen with Office)
So in my case, I think it was the Shipping Company being sloppy.
(would the info from another disk of the same program and year work for my
disk?)
