Does anyone else with Windows XP Professional installed
on their PC have a process running in the background
called DLLHOST.EXE ?

It is causing wierd dialups and requesting info from
microsoft.com, and it seems to have just appeared.

Any replies will be VERY helpful!

I have dllhost.exe in \System32 and dll cache folders but it's not running
in the background. If it's in \System32\Wins folder you may have a worm,
look here:

hosts.dll is a normal program.

What isn't normal is the problem you describe.

Go to Symantec or another vendor of your choice and run
the virus scan for the "W32.Blaster.Worm"
and "W32.Welchia.Worm"

.Richard, what you did was reinstall using install.

Never..never do that.. go to your dos side reload and it
should reinsatll the dill files which have been dupped...
