docx' files aren't associated with any program eventhough wod 2007

Hi,

'.docx' files aren't associated with any program eventhough wod 2007 is
installed.

When I try open them, it asks me to find a suitable program to open them, I
know where word 2007 is installed but I can't get it to associate '.docx'
files with word 2007. it will not bring it up in the box to choose from

I am able to open '.docx. files by starting word 2007 and then opening them
through it but this is a bit inconvient.

Any help would be much appreciated

Click Start menu > Run. Type in the box

winword.exe /r

and press Enter. That will run Word in an invisible window and re-create
Word's registry entries, including the document type associations
(http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ReRegisterWord.htm).

thankyou for the reply but this has not worked it did come up with re
configeration and went though it but still cannot double click a file and
open it
