I bought a computer from a friend and his name is in the documents and
settings.
His useraccount is erased but still his name pops up.
Can i get rid of his name by creating a new account and erase the map
documents and settings/name??

Yes, you can delete it - but first make sure you have another account to
access the PC with.

From what i understand is that some programs are using the old name.
But if you say that i cannot find the old name back i will do the procedure.
I was reading some more posts about this and some say you can delete it but
alsoo some people that say: clean pc.

When you get a used computer your best course of action it to format the
hard drive and reinstall Windows and programs. This makes sure everything is
in your name and also makes sure you have good base install of Windows to
build on.

If I bought a used computer, the first thing I would do with it would be to
reinstall the operating system cleanly. You have no idea how the computer
has been maintained, what has been installed incorrectly, what is missing,
what viruses and spyware there may be, etc. I wouldn't want to live with
somebody else's mistakes and problems, possibility of kiddie porn, etc., and
I wouldn't recommend that anyone else do either.

See the post by Ken Blake to see why a clean install is best on a used
computer.
