Documents and Settings Gone

Yesterday I went to try and view all of the hidden files
in my Documents and Settings folder, when I did this the
computer froze up so I had to restart. The next time that
I logged in I had a new profile created. Which gave me a
new desktop and everything, now when I got to look for the
Documents and Settings folder it is not there? Does
anyone know how to get this folder back??

Any help is appreciated.

Inexplicable glitch, I think Gregory.

Try a system restore for any time before the incident. Being a default
folder (if that's the word) it will probably be returned.
