ok, i run win xp prof sp1, and i had it set up with an admin
user accont, and i never needed to log on - but i wanted to
change the user - start from scratch as id made thigns rather
cluttered. so i made a new admin, and i went to transfer all
my stuff from documents and settings\first user to doc at
set\new user... i got everythign accross except two folders i
had on my old desktop - and these were most important - my
music and video files!
they for soem reason have blue titles in explorer which i never
did unserdtand.
and to top it all i cant log into my old/orignal username to
change the folder settings so i can move them.
when i try to move them from new user acconut (the only one
i can use now) i get access denied...
please say you can help someone,

drop me an email:

(e-mail address removed)

thansk in advance,

corm

The files are compressed using NTFS compression - that's why they show up in
blue.

Why can you not log into the old account ?
If it is simply because it is not offered at the Welcome
screen, try using alt-cntrl-del-del to log in.

Consider using the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard
(FastWiz is in the Support\Tools dir of the CD) to move
the stuff from the old to the new account.

You cannot access the storage of the old from the new
because it is private to the old account. You would
need to change the NTFS permissions. If you take ownership
over it from the new, then things will be wrong for the old
account, but that is one way to do it.
