Moving the "My Documents" folder after group policy is set

Heres my problem. I have a user on a laptop and the group policy for the
domain is set so that the My documents folder is "\\%HOMESHARE%%HOMEPATH%"
Thats totally fine for users who are always on the network. But for laptop
users i want to change the settings on those computwer to make the "My
documents" folder local.

When i right click on My documents i can see where the My documents folder
is but i can't change it to a new location. I also don't get the move button
either.

I don't want to play with the setting on the server because for the most
part they work. So Any ideas how to change that setting just for one user
and only on his laptop?

I know i could just make a local profile and i will if nessasary, but hes
already used his computer with the network profile and has preferences there.

Thanks in advance

Do you know much about roaming profiles? I am not an expert by any means,
just was browsing and saw your post. I also know that in order to move an My
Documents folder you have to not be logged on to either the account you are
moving too or from, but an account not of either. Then you just move the
folder from the profile you want to move it from, into the profile you want
it in. If you look at a few posts prior to these ones, just for today, there
is a post with a simular issue with links to proper advice on moving profile
folders. It would be of assistance in your case I do believe. Sorry not to be
more knowlegable, but I do hope you get this solved soon. Good luck and have
a nice evening.

I wouldn't do that.

That's a group policy setting, yes.

Don't do that. Users shouldn't have local accounts. It's a pain in too many
ways.

What about offline files?
I personally prefer third party software (SecondCopy from www.centered.com)
and create different OUs for laptops & different policies for them, but you
might look into offline files & see if that works for your user.
