Document prints on 1/4 of the page

I have a Canon iSeries portable printer and Windows XP on my laptop. When I
print a document on 8 1/2 x 11 paper, the document doesn't fit the page. The
document content appears on a 1/4 of the page instead of the full page. The
problem occurs in multiple applications and on every document I print. I
have tried reinstalling the printer several times. All the printing
preferences and page layout options look fine under printer properties.
Another person uses the same printer w/ the same driver with Windows XP, and
he doesn't have the same problem I do. Please advise.

If the print options are correct (check settings like "fit to page" and any
advanced settings in Windows XP), and if it works fine on another PC then I
guess you have a windows issue. Maybe you should try one of the Microsoft
public windows groups for more help. One possibility is to uninstall the
printer and remove all references to it in the registry but this needs great
care, make sure you get a good registry backup first if you are going to do
this by going to Microsoft.com and doing a search for windows XP registry
backup, make sure you know how to invoke the backup if necessary.
