doc attachment/can't send or receive

Hello,
I have a couple of problems.
First, I can't send or receive email. It tells me there is a problem with
the POP3 server. Also says it might be related to authentication.
The second problem is I recently received an attachment with a ending in
..doc and I can't open it. I tried saving such attachment but still was not
able to open it.
Thanks for your attention.
Regards,
Ana

1. Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

2. If you can't open a saved attachment, it isn't a Windows Mail problem.
Do you have Word or the free Word Viewer installed, and if so, which
version? Which antivirus are you running?

Hello ljlawson,
If I am not mistaken, your In-coming server should be ** pop.starband.net
** NOT pop3......

Wrong mail server name. It should be POP.starband.net, not POP3.starband.net.
