When I brought my system out of Hibernation today there was much disk
activity so I opened the Task Manager and the process wmiprvse.exe was using
much CPU under the user name NETWORK SERVICES.

I have 2 types of network cards but they are disabled so the only network
thing that is enabled is the internet telephone com card.

Do you know what wmiprvse.exe is?

Thanks

It's part of windows management instrumentation or WMI. You can find
more info on the process at
http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/wmiprvse.exe.html.

For additional info on WMI see:
