wmiprvse.exe using 100% PC processes. How do I make it stop?

What's the deal with wmiprvse.exe, all of a sudden, using the entire of my
client's CPU processes? The only configuration change made was an install of
MS Project 2007 Trial Edition. It really seems to hang up while in Outlook
2003. I read one thread that it is a virus, yet I know it is not... and I
applied for hotfix that randomly applied to this, and it did not fix the
problem. I read all throughout these threads on the wmiprvse.exe dillemma,
and have not read one fix for it. WHAT DO I DO???

Thank you,
Luke

Thank you. I accessed the msconfig utility and I disabled the process. Once
disabled, my client was able to work and access his email. Thanks again.
Just one more QUESTION.......... When will my client actually NEED to use
this wmiprvse.exe? Thanks again for your help.
