it's not that good.. you can't even update it..
and i can't find an unstaller.. that sucks even more.
Are you sure it can't be updated, and isn't the uninstaller the last one in your list above;)

well even then.. an uninstaller should be in the map.
and updating should be easy to find since it is pretty importand.
and i don't understand a thing of that antivirus..
EDIT: what antivirus/antispyware should i get?
a time ago i reinstalled windows..
so no protection at all.
and i can't take the risk of my windows getting bad again..
any suggestions on what i should get?

Ok, if you no happy with Avast, download the uninstaller, uninstall it, then try Antivir

Updating is a breeze, if you can't get your head round that then I suggest you buy Nortons ;)

How's this?

Yes, I know we have had this question before ... but I do love a good laugh from time to time.

So come on ... list what you use ... and tell us why you think it is good. ;)

Redhat Fedora Core 3 (Firewall/Gateway - "Natbox")
  • Easy to install and use
  • Very good documentation
  • Runs on budget systems (450mhz & 768mB w/ no GUI)
  • Unsurpassed uptime - 9 months since booted (Installed new OS, was running Redhat 9)
Windows XP Professional by Microsoft (Operating System, Patched to Service Patch 2)
  • Hard to argue with 95% of the market
Opera by Opera Software (Web Browser)
  • No IE Vulnerabilities (not IE)
  • No widely known exploits - small user base
  • Useful quick menu:
Open All/Open in Background/Block Unwanted/Block All Popups (Mutually Exclusive)
    Enable/Disable GIF Animation
    Enable/Disable Sound in Web Pages
    Enable/Disable Java
    Enable/Disable Plugins
    Enable/Disable JavaScript
    Enable/Disable Cookies
  • Quick image state toggle: All Images/Cached Images/No Images
  • Some "web applications" don't function in it - works well when filtering "less than reputable" websites
Mozilla Firefox (Web Browser)
  • Friendly interface
  • IE equivalent functionality
Housecall by Trendmicro (Online Antivirus)
  • Reassuring when imagination wanders

No Antivirus/Antispyware/etc. Local firewall disabled.

Ok Mucks! this is my list:

Nod32 - antivirus
Windows Firewall or ZoneAlarm
Adaware SE
Spybot search & destroy

and of course I use a ADSL router and not a crappy USB modem! and just for good measure I have a linux smoothwall running behind my router. (probably not much advantage there really but I do like messing around and viewing different stats and I like the cache element too!)

One thing I recommend is using a proxy, you can buy software to hide your tracks it's basically just a proxy connection {Mostly}....Microsoft Antispyware, I installed it ....then removed it... anything that requires that may processes just bugs me.....It's like Microsoft is married to you anything thats yours is theirs...
Your harddrive, your memory...Linux would be my only OS if I didn't have normal humans to provide support for
