With adware becoming more of a plague for PCs, many systems are infected without the owners even realising it.

I know plenty of people that don't bother with any security at all - not even the basic windows firewall... crazy!

Are you bothered about security?

Oh, and I'm sorry to say but you will never be 100% secure from the Internet ... not even if you never connected to it. Yes, that includes Linux.

Just keep in mind that you CAN get infected no matter what defences you use ... a good example was the WMF exploit, nobody was safe.

;)

I would like to see what "security" you lot are taking ... what do you actually use?

Yes, I know we have had this question before ... but I do love a good laugh from time to time.

So come on ... list what you use ... and tell us why you think it is good. ;)

I use the following

Zone Alarm Firewall
Mcaffe A.V (Will change when the subs up)
Spywareblaster
Spysweeper
MSAS
Spybot S&D
Ad-Aware

Plus a weekly scan with a few online virus scanners to make sure my av is doing what it should.

I know mucks will have dig about the AV, but when it runs out ill change to Antivir or something..... :)

I've never actually used Avast, the reason I recommend it is because so many other forum peeps have said it's good. I use Antivir.

So, I don't know but at a guess I'd say anything other than the FREE versions you're going to have to pay for.
