And he'll advise against using Vista SP1 (until SP2 comes out). By Bill's
logic, SP2 will be so bad SP1 will look great. This stuff never changes.

Woe is me - just getting used to this mooshene - and affect my Dragon!
sheesh It'd total ZoomText, I'm sure. That would be a bye-bye for me. Think
I should upgrade to IE 7???

I'd wait a bit until Firefox 3 is out. The beta 4 release is a speed
demon (finally). Of course IE8 will at last have a "standards" mode, so
all those lousy web designers that wrote only for IE will have to clean
up their act.

YEAH!... so that the 20% (possibly less) that are using FF can see the
sites they are viewing.

Agree!!!

I just may end up going back to Win98SE, if this keeps up! I still
prefer a nice and trim, lean and mean, *operating system* (and it's FAST,
and is only about 100 MB, *just as it should be*, for an *operating
system*, per se), instead of 1 GB! And - it lets you be in complete
control. When I looked for an operating system, that's what I wanted -
not an "application" (albatross). So there. (OK, OK, at least WinXP
is less prone to BSODs, I'll have to admit, and it runs current programs)

Isn't this one of the "marketing ploys" that landed MS in Federal Court?

Now I'm "awash!"

New OS all the time - so consumers must upgrade or purchase a new OS

That's not the only reason MS does a new OS. Besides, they don't make users
buy a new version of Windows nearly as often as Apple makes their users buy
new versions of OS/X. The advances in hardware technology alone over a
three or four year period obsoletes an OS to the point only a rewrite can
catch an OS up.
