Ocassionally I get the "do Not Show Again" message.
If I check the box to apply the do not show again, is there a way to restore
so that the message reappears when necessary. ?

Hi,

You're referring to the MSConfig Selective Startup reminder? Login as Administrator, and try this:

1. Click Start, Run and type "msconfig /auto". Check the option "Don't show......." and press OK.

-or-

I suspect you can make those messages reappear by going into the registry.

From What? If from the System Configuration, all you need do is run
MSConfig.exe and OK out without changing anything (or the messages will
reappear next time you do make a change)

I installed Hoyle Casino on my Laptop, Windows XP Pro, with max screen
resolution of 1024X768. A message came up when running the program the first
time indicating text my not clearly display, I checked the "DO Not Show
Again". The game is a WIndows 98. It displays very well on my 17"
desktop(Win98SE) monitor at 1024X768 in full screen mode.

The laptop is a 15 " screen and in full screen mode is pretty good but not
as sharp as the desktop. Since I decided to leave the game on the laptop, I
disabled the message. I am curious how to make that message show again.

Thanks,

BL

The game runs fine

Another example would be, when starting Spybot, a box comes up with the
message indicating if you remove the advertisement robots, you may not be
allowed to continue using their host program. This message has a box to be
ticked so as not to be shown again. If it were checked how can the original
state be restored ?

Hope I clarified myself. Thanks,

BL

BL,

This is application specific.

In this example:

o Open SpyBot S&D and switch to Advanced mode.
o Click Settings, Settings
o Uncheck "I do not know about all the legal stuff"

FYI: SpyBot S&D stores the information in an INI file:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{E6E1A8F2-C885-46A5-975E-94A4A1F8C788}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\Dont Show Dialogs
