The executive asst. in my office is going on holidays next week and I need
her to send out a timely message on behalf of the exec.s next Friday. I asked
her to use the "Do not deliver before" function available in Options, but she
says it still shows that the email sent will be time stamped for this week. A
message with a time stamp a week before the announcement comes out will
likely create some grievance problems. Is there any way to time stamp the
email for when it actually leaves the Outbox instead of when you click send?

No, unfortunately if that's how it works in your setup, that's how it is.
(Some mail servers do use the actual send date.) If you or someone has send
as permissions, you can set it up as a task and send it when the reminder
fires: http://www.outlook-tips.net/archives/2005/20050105.htm - save the
message as a template and use the path to the template.

other options are at http://www.outlook-tips.net/archives/2004/20041230.htm
