Do I Need Two Burners?

R

Richard

I currently have two disc drives; a dvd-rom which came with
my Gateway computer and a Plextor cd burner (PlexWriter
24/10/40A) which I've installed myself.

I'm planning on buying a dvd burner (Sony DRU-510A).

Should I keep the Plextor along with the new Sony?

Since the Sony burns both dvd's & cd's, is it beneficial
to have two burner drives?

Also, if I don't need the Plextor, I'd have a free drive
bay.

Any suggestions on what if anything to put there?

I have a 15g iPod. Wouldn't it be cool if I could somehow
utilize the bay with the iPod?

Thanks for any help!

I'd leave it in until such time as some other use for the connection
comes up, and see if it has proved useful in the mean time.

The only time you'd need two burners is if you're doing Disk-to-disk
coping. Saves from having to write to the hard drive, then back to a CD.
