Most, but not all web sites are wider then my screen, causing me to have to
scroll sideways. This is no fun!

It was never like that before I reinstalled xp. My screen resolution and
other settings (I think) are all like before.

Also, a few received emails also do this.

Help.

tks,
paul

Go to your video card mfr's website and download the latest XP drivers, and
install them in device manager.

What is your screen resolution?
What is your DPI setting?

Good. Now reset the screen resolution to something like
1024 x 768. Or, if a flat-screen monitor, to the native
screen resolution specified by its manufacturer. This will
take care of the need for horizontal scrolling.

ok, that works, but I have extra real estate on the left of screen, about
30%. It was not like this prior to the reinstall.

Paul, take my word for it...there is nothing one can do for
a poorly designed or programmed website. Website programmers
follow what they consider will suit their audience...it might
be a resolution of 800 x 600. The better programmers will add
code that centers the screen to accomodate a higher resolution;
others simply do not. It is a difficult programming call until
the most common resolution becomes 1024 x 768 from 800 x 600.

Increase your screen resolution to at least 800X600
