Do I need to buy Licences?

S

Shane

- Windows 2000 Server.
- Terminal Services installed in Application Mode.
- 10 users running XP/2000 workstations.

I'm a little confused as to whether I need to buy CALS for
those users using TS, as I have also been told that
XP/2000 has built in tokens for TS, thus no need to
purchase CAL's for TS.

Thanks for any help?

You need both CALs and TS CALs for all clients, and *no* OS comes
with build-in TS CALs.
But if your clients run W2K Pro or XP Pro (not the Home edition),
then those clients will receive a free TS CAL from the TS
Licensing Server.

So you don't need to buy TS CALs, but you must install and
activate a TS Licensing server to receive your free TS CALs.
