Do I need SP2?

I just received a new PC from my company with SP1 installed. They
didn't install SP2 because they don't want to support it yet because of
compatibility issues. Also the PC is set up for onsite company
networking, and I have my PC at home. I would have to get special
administrative permission to install SP2. My PC has Sygate Personal
Firewall, McAfee antivirus, and spyware prevention and cleanup software.
I use Mozilla rather than IE. Does my PC have enough protection
without SP2? Thanks for any advice.

You will need SP2 eventually. Period.

But you would probably be well advised to wait until your company has
resolved their software compatibility issues with SP2, because it is
their PC and it just might happen that you will end up using it onsite
and connected to the company network.

Good luck
