Do i need client licences for XP clients?

Let's say that i will setup a Windows2000 server with 3 winxp Pro clients, do
i need to purchase 1 licence for each client?

Another question is: Each XP client must access a SQL2000, do i need to buy
SQL licences instead WindowsServer licences?

I think its little confusing..

thanks in advance.

Not confusing at all. A Client Access License (or CAL) must be purchased
for each client that will connect to a server. So you'll need three Windows
Server CALs and three SQL Server CALs.
