You haven't said - HOW is your pc connected to the internet? If it's
dial-up, this next bit won't help, but the pcpitstop advice later on
applies, whatever.

If you have a cable modem direct to the pc, OR via a router (wireless or
wired) - could be that your connection is dropping out. To correct, switch
off the modem and/or router (NOT THE PC), then switch back on - this will
re-set it.
Another way - right-click the system tray LAN icon (the 2 pc monitors pic)
and select "Repair" item in the menu. Personally I've found the physical
power-off to be the more effective method.

If/when you get yr connection back - go to www.pitstop.com and run all the
tests on yr pc.

Follow all the recommendations - AFTER you've got yr pc running reasonably
well (predominantly chequered flags), use the (trial) utility on the site
(PcPitstop Optimise) and adjust your internet registry settings as
recommended - you'll find your surfing significantly improved. (re-run the
internet test to see).
Hope this helps!
