DNS serious issues

R

Raul

I have my AD system setup with static IP, Gateway= Ip of linksys router, DNS
= AD's IP.

In the DNS config. for forward I entered the two DSN ips addresses from my
DSL's provider - Verizon.

The workstations have IP, Gateway = linksys router, DNS=AD's IP.

Accessing the web, or email is fast; however, accesing any shares on the AD
computer is painfully slow!!!

Is there something I should change on AD's DNS, anyother think? Any
suggested changes on the linksys router config?

Please help. I have twenty screaming users.

1. What is your primary DNS suffix on your computers ? Check this in My
Computer properties --> Computer Name tab --> Change Computer name --> More
.... (it should match your domain name)
2. Se if you have any dns sufix set on network adapter (under TPC/IP
options)
3. Check your DNS server if you have all entries registered.
4. run dcdiag/netdiag on your network
5. Create a reverse lookup zo ne on your DNS server (if not present).
