DNS forwarding problem

I post this in the DNS newsgroup but did not get a response.
Thought it might be a good idea to try it in this group as well.

When I set my domain controllers with AD intergrated DNS in a
child domain to forward to an internet DNS server replication
stops working. I get an error saying that the RPC service is not
avaliable and that I may have a DNS lookup problem. However when
I do an nslookup I can resolve all domain controllers names
correctly. Any ideas? Thank you!

Was the child forwarding to the root domain before you changed it? The
child needs to be able to find the SRV records for the domain controllers in
the root domain. If the DCs in the child domain are unable to locate these
records then you will receive RPC errors. You could create a secondary zone
on the
child DNS server that transfers the parent zone from the parent DNS server
so that it will still be able to resolve the records..

No the child was not forwarding to the root domain. The child domain controller
use recursion to resolve the parent domain controller names. I did not disable
recursion when enabling forwarders on the child domain controllers. The child
domain DNS zone is delegated from the parent DNS zone.
