DNS Failure for Yahoo Search

I think I have a DNS problem happening on a W2K server box. I am able to
connect to the Internet with no problem and I can surf to most sites without
a problem. But I noticed recently that I started getting an error when I
attempted to surf to the Advanced Search page at Yahoo using the address
name.

Let me clarify the problem. I type www.yahoo.com into a browser and go to
Yahoo's home page. Then I click on the link that says 'Advanced' just to
the right of the Search button. There is a delay and then I get a message
that says:

Not Found
The requested URL /search/options was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an
ErrorDocument to handle the request.
------------------------------

The URL for that link is:
http://search.yahoo.com/search/options?fr=fp-top&p=

If I replace the name search.yahoo.com with the actual IP address I can get
to the search page using the following:
http://216.109.117.133/search/options?fr=fp-top&p=

Since the IP address works and the name doesn't, I am suspicious I have some
sort of DNS problem. However, I have been using the name forever (I had the
URL bookmarked for months using the name) and I never had a problem until
just a week or so ago. I am not aware of anything else changing on this PC
that would explain this problem. I should also mention that his PC is
located on my home network and connected to the Internet via a cable modem.
But the other computers on my network are able to surf to the Yahoo Search
page using the name so it seems to be just this one computer.

Any ideas? I would appreciate any suggestions.

How many nics in your server? How does the ipconfig/all look like? Is
DNS-server installed? DHCP?

Sounds like you have the QHosts trojan, perhaps - did you do a full scan
with your AV software (updated)? Search www.symantec.com for Qhosts -
there's a removal tool, as well as one on the Trend Micro site.
