DNS delima

I have a home network with 3 computers going through a router and then
to a DSL connection through the router. I have set up a LAN aside from
my normal Internet connection using IP address to access them. I just
set up a home web server using apache on Windows XP with PHP and MySQL.
Everything works great, but I have one problem. Since I use IP
addresses to access my web server, everytime I boot up, I get a
different IP address. I could use static IP addresses, but I don't want
to break my Internet DHCP setup. I know using a DNS server would
probably be best, but I am not sure if I can do that without having to
register it or without breaking my normal Internet connection. I
thought maybe I could use the alternate TCPIP setup, but that did not
seem to work as I could not ping the address I set it at. I was
wondering if someone had a better idea of how I could solve my problem.

Hi
Assuming that you relate to internal IP assigned to a LAN computer
(192.168.x.x).
Some Routers can be configured to assign the same IP to the same computer
(it based on the computer's MAC number).
Otherwise use static IP as long as it out of the range of the DHCP you can
leave the DHCP as is.
