DMA for drive not installed

F

Frank Brown

Running WinXP SP2 on a Gigabyte K8NS Pro, AMD Athlon 64 3000+

Rebuilt machine to add SATA Raid 1 as the C drive.

After loading everything, the Maxtor 6B100P0 (Location 0 on the Primary ATA
Channel) which had been my data drive shows up in the Device Manager and in
Disk Management (No Drive Letter), but
not in My Computer.

I got an error to the effect that DMA is not loaded for this drive.

Any suggestions?

Well youve mentioned one maxtor SATA drive on location 0,however for
RAID,you need two SATA drives to make up a RAID configuration. Are two
drives configured....If not,as port 1 isnt mentioned,youre whole installation
is wrong,buy another maxtor,make up a RAID set,reinstall xp.

Actually, what I have is a SiL Raid 1 Set 0, which is now serving as the
"C:" drive with WinXP R2 running, and I have the Maxtor 6B100P0 at Location
0 (Primary ATA Channel)

Sorry for not giving enough detail.
