I get the following error message when I start up my
computer:

Error loading C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvCpl.dll
A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.

Does anyone know how to fix this or what this means? I
started getting this when I downloaded some update from
Microsoft. What will it affect? Thank you for your help!

That does not appear to be a Microsoft file. Right click on it and select
Properties. See if you can determine where it came from.

NvCpl.dll is a library for what I would suspect is your video card that uses
the NVIDIA chipset. Do a search for the file and see if it does exist or
you may want to reinstall your video display drivers.
