i turned on my pc as usual only to receive the messages as normally associated with a bad system shut down etc (you have x ammount of seconds to choose the manner in which to open up with ie 'safe mode', 'start as normal', 'last known configuration that worked' etc. Having gained access to a semblance of normal service i noticed the message:- 'c:\windows\system32\NvCpl.dll' On the header RUNDLL. And with the supporting information of:-
'A DYNAMIC LINK LIBRARY (DLL) INITIALIZATION ROUTINE FAILED'
the system seems to be working ok but with only 4 colours and slowly all text and windows etc are very large. If any help is out there i would be very grateful. Thanks in anticipation.

I have the exact same problem - not sure how it happened - I have restarted in every mode possible but nothing seems to work.

Hey foudn another post in another section that WORKED! Basically just went to NVIDIA site (my graphic card - assume yours to) and downloaded the latest drivers. Restarted and it fixed it back to normal.
