I am trying load my software for my Photosmart 8250 HP Printer. I keep
getting a message saying the following files are missing: Slbcsp.dll,
Sccbase.dll, gpkcsp.dll and Enum. I cannot get this fixed. Keep in mind I
am a computer dummy, please help...

Did you download the Vista software from HP's website or are you trying
to use the cd that came with the printer? If the latter, this won't
work. You need the Vista drivers. Here is a link to HP's site for your
printer drivers and software:

I've had a problem with installing the downloaded file PS 8250 from the
HP Website -- I always download and then run from my PC in case I need
it again.

Do note this very important statement which applies in general to all
HP USB Printers:

<< Note: Make sure the printer is "Not" connected to the computer
before running the download file. >>

I had a problem during the installation that I've described in another
message here where the VISTA Found New Hardware poked its head in
partway through the HP installation process and stopped either from
finding and installing the driver.

Post here if that happens to you but it should not if you do not have
the printer cable plugged into the PC (it may not be enough just to
unplug it from the printer end) and do not have the printer turned off.

The installation procedure will stop and tell you to plug the cable
into the PC and printer and turn on the printer. If the VISTA module
comes up then tell it to go away and hope it stays away!

..what about if sbdy is not running on Vista? I'm on XP, run the CD
for HP 6310 and it said there are no gpkcsp.dll, slbcsp.dll and
sccbase.dll. I downloaded them on the system32 folder, did all the
regsvc stuff on the command prompt, messed with the regedit, but still
i don't seem to have the 3 dlls. Is there sth I should do that I
haven't done?
Thanks a lot guys! I'm frustrated!

1. You posted to a very old, closed thread. Next time make a new one.

2. You posted a question about XP in a Vista newsgroup. Next time post
to the correct newsgroup. Here is a list of all the MS newsgroups:

http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

I have no idea from your post what you have done and what error messages
you are getting. Please make a new post in the appropriate newsgroup and
include information per this guide on writing a newsgroup post:

http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm

Or you could contact HP tech support for help with their printer.

I will not be monitoring this thread.
